My motivation to become an ADHD Coach was influenced by my own journey through ADHD diagnosis as an adult.
Through this journey and in my work in the field of fostering I noticed that so many of the conversations around ADHD in children and adults are dominated by problems and I wanted to be part of conversations that invited more hopeful and empowering narratives, while also not losing sight of just how difficult life with ADHD can be; whether you are the person with ADHD or the person trying to support someone with ADHD.
I have a background in working with children and families and adults in several differing settings including experiences in child and family social work, youth offending services and fostering. I have qualifications in counselling (Diploma in Counselling 1997), social work (Diploma in Social Work 2001) which has informed my practice and have trained in systemic practice (Diploma in Applied Systemic Theory 2007 and Diploma in Systemic Supervision for Multiple Contexts 2019). I have undertaken the accredited Coaching Basic Course with ADDCA (2023) and the Fundamentals of ADHD Coaching For Families Course (2024).
